Recognising phishing attempts

phishingawareness
Urgency, unfamiliar senders, and links that do not match the claimed destination are the strongest signals.
Phishing messages usually share a small set of tells:
- Urgency or fear (account will be closed, payment failed)
- A sender address that looks close to a legitimate one but is not
- A link whose visible text does not match the actual URL
- A request to reveal a code, password, or one-time token
When in doubt, do not click. Navigate to the service directly through your browser bookmarks or a known official app.
